CHAT PILE

CHAT PILE

plus special guests meth. & Modern Technology

Chat Pile are back! Following their hugely successful tour last summer – incl. TWO sold out nights in London, a sold out Manchester and a packed set at ArcTanGent – the band return for their biggest headline shows yet. The Oakland City sludge-metal / noise rock outfit caused a wide-felt ripple in the underground upon the release of their acclaimed debut album, ‘God’s Country’ during the summer of 2022. The album captures the feeling of a world falling apart in both terrifying and thrilling measure, while channeling inspirations incl. Big Black, The Jesus Lizard and Helmet. The band have also released the 2019 EP’s ’This Dungeon Earth’ and ‘Remove Your Skin Please’, a 2021 split with Portrayal Of Guilt and their ’Tenkiller’ movie soundtrack in 2022.

Joining them are blackened-alt-noise-hardcore-metallers, meth. The Chicago group released their equally terrifying new album, ’SHAME’ (Prosthetic Records) in 2024. Bursting with rage and fear, the album is an unsettling yet compelling sonic assault that is destined for cult status and acts as the perfect accompaniment to Chat Pile on this bill.

Completing your line up is Brighton duo Modern Technology. They released their sludge, punk, psych and noise infused new album, ‘Conditions Of Worth’ (Human Worth) in October 2023. Hailed as a “sonic breath of fresh air” by Andy Cairns (Therapy?), the album is an angry wallop of fuzz & driving heaviness that tackles issues including mental health, the effects of austerity, societal degradation and the ever increasing climate emergency. The band manage to evoke the very spirit of Aaron Turner (SUMAC/ISIS), yet remain entirely unique and sincere in their craft and message. A must see for fans of all of the above.

Please note this show is 14+ (under 16s must be accompanied by an 18+ adult / Proof of age is required at entry.)
